Baseball's an endurance game. One loss means nothing in the grand scheme of things. It was just surprising to see C.C. get spanked so hard. Then again, he apparently went 1-5 in his first six starts of the year, so he's supposedly a pitcher who warms up as the season progresses. Seems to be a perfect fit for the Yankees...

That being said, the Yankees can't afford to just heat it up in the late season. They're now the third best team in the AL East, by most accounts, meaning they have to continually deal with both the Rays and the Red Sox. Can't rest on your laurels with such stiff competition in your face.

I was talking with Danny N yesterday about the Yankees loss to the Orioles. I couldn't believe it! But then again, if I remember correctly, (being someone who only follows baseball casually) the Yanks are a team that usually starts off losing and then wins enough in the end to make it to the playoffs.
